The abdomen is a part of the body easily subject to the appearance of defects and for men it is the needle in the balance of their physical appearance. Having a flat belly with well-defined muscles is the desire of many men and often, constant physical activity and proper nutrition are not enough. Losses or weight gain and loss of muscle tone can still cause skin flaccidity, fat accumulation and stretch marks.

Thankfully, there is a surgery, called abdominoplasty, which allows the elimination excess skin and fat. The result is a more vigorous abdomen, which has regained its former tonicity, giving the entire body a more harmonious, robust and virile appearance.

The procedure

The first visit allows me to make sure that the patient is healthy, to know their wishes and to identify the achievable results. Based on the observations made, I identify the most suitable technique to use.

I perform the surgery, which requires hospitalization for one or two nights, under general anesthesia and its duration varies from two to three hours or so. Upon awakening it is possible to feel pain and a sense of constriction in the affected area, sensations that take about ten days to disappear completely. After the operation I first apply a compression bandage and, after a few days, I remove it and use a restraining bandage to hold it for about four weeks.

The scars will be minimal and will turn into small, slightly visible white marks. During the recovery, which goes from six to eight weeks, it is necessary to rest from all physical exertion and avoid work for about two weeks. At the end of the course, my patient will be able to appreciate his new abdomen, firmer and more toned, which gives the whole body back its natural charm.

Frequently asked questions

Doubts or questions? It's only natural to have any! Below I try to answer the most frequent ones. For further clarification you can write to me at any time, I will answer as soon as possible.
01. Do you have to be fasting to support the operation?
Yes, since it is general anaesthesia, you should not eat or drink for about six hours before the operation.
02. Is it necessary to stop smoking before the operation?
Yes. In order to promote rapid recovery and reduce the risk of infection, smokers should refrain from smoking, starting at least two weeks before the operation.
03. Is it not recommended to take medication before treatment?
It is not recommended, but there is a possibility that it is necessary to stop taking them.
04. How long does the operation last and what abdominoplasty operations are possible?
The operation takes about two or three hours and requires a one or two nights hospitalization. There are three types of possible surgery: standard, partial and extensive abdominoplasty. Standard abdominoplasty: it is one of the best known techniques, it consist in an incision along the lower abdomen that allows me to tighten the stomach muscles (contouring process) and remove excess fat and skin. I then tighten the skin down and close the incision. Finally, after a small incision around the navel necessary to reposition it, I insert the draining tubes and make a compression bandage. Partial abdominoplasty: it is a less invasive technique because it does not involve moving the navel and is dedicated to those women who have excess skin and fat located in the lower abdomen. Extended abdominoplasty: Identical to standard abdominoplasty, this procedure also requires lateral liposuction with ultrasound (Vaser) to eliminate excess skin and fat from the hips and waist.
