Face lift
Face lifts have the aim of instant long term improvement of the face.The operation lasta approximately 2-3 hours and is performed in general anaesthesia.
The incisions come down from the scalp in the REGIONE TEMPORALE in front of the ear, they curve down around the LOBO AURICOLARE and continue in the grrove behind the ear. Through these incisions the skin is lifted from the underlying muscular tissues; the facial muscles is "unglued" like a separate layer and repositioned higher, the execss is removed.
The latter is all done so the skin can drape itself with the minimum tension above the facial muscles that are tight.
At the end of the operation and elsatic-compressive bandage is put on the face and the neck.
after 2 days the medication can be removed, after 5-6 the stitches are removed and a slightly compressive sheath is applied during the night for other 10 days. From thismoment onwards patients can wash their hair delicately. The patiend is usually socially presentable after 3-4 weeks.
Thjere is usually a loss of sensitivity in the area in front of the ear and the neck that can last for months.
The scars are hidden and will become nearly invisible when operated by an expert plastic surgeon.
