Cheekbones and Chin
Less developed jaws or less prominent cheekbones can be corrected through facial implants. the operation is performed in day hospital in topical or general anaesthesia.The operation lasta approximatelyn 30-60 minutes. The incisions are performed inside the oral cavity and the prostheses are inserted in proximity of the bone scheleton inside a surgically created pocket.
Usually the patient feels no pain, however swelling and a sense of nuiance are always present. Laughing, eating and talking may be difficult for the first few days. It is important to keep an ice bag for 24 hours after the operation and to pay special attentio to denatl hygiene for 7 days. It takes 3 months for the swelling to completely disappear and for the new appearance to be definitive.
